Summer Holidays- caves and home

As my previous summer holidays post(s) explained I headed to Cornwall for my summer trip this year with my mum and dad. I've decided to blog about my trip, but split them up into separate posts, because I know full well its going to be a long post otherwise!

Our final day in Cornwall was an early start, with us packing up and leaving our little house by half 8 in the morning! Safe to say I was pretty tired! But I settled down in the care ready for the 3 hour drive to get to our final destination. We were heading for Cheddar Gorge!

With me being massively into all things geographical and nerdy I knew full well that I was going to love Cheddar Gorge and I did! A little too much if I'm honest.
We spent nearly 2 hours in one cave, listening to all the information and wandering round. I thought the caves were amazing and I spent the whole time telling my mum and dad all about the caves and how they form and nerdy things like that.

The caves were so interesting, plus the funky tricks of light make it hard to tell what you're looking at
After the caves me and my dad headed up the 274 steps to the viewing tower, halfway up I started to regret my option to climb it. But once I got to the top and saw the views I was very happy I'd decided to do it!

The views were pretty impressive!
Straight after we headed for a little bakery for dinner and then to Costa!
Our last stop of the day was back to the original Travelodge we had stayed at literally 4 days before, for our last night away, however I did get my own room again, which meant that I could rest up, after the nicest meal ever at the Carvery, ready for our 4 hour drive back to Blackpool the following morning!

My whole holiday/road trip/get away was fantastic and I loved every minute of it, exploring such a beautiful place with my parents! I only wish we did it more often and I cannot WAIT until I can go back to Cornwall again!

Hope anyone reading this has enjoyed my ramblings, I'd love to visit more of England/the world!
I do apologize for the awful quality of pictures, but these were all the best ones that I took, which were all taken on my Iphone, considering they turned out better than my digital camera photos did.

Summer Holidays- Sanctuary and shopping

As my previous summer holidays post(s) explained I headed to Cornwall for my summer trip this year with my mum and dad. I've decided to blog about my trip, but split them up into separate posts, because I know full well its going to be a long post otherwise!

Our last day in our local area and we decided to go to Gweek to see the seal sanctuary. The sanctuary was so cute and they do such an amazing job; some of the stories about the animals there were heartbreaking!

The Penguins were so cute too!
We then decided it was far too hot to be outside so we headed back to Newquay for some shopping and lunch at Costa! Yum yum! The day was pretty much over by this point, but not until we went and got pizza back at our little house, which was so so so good! If nothing else Cornwall has amazing food and weather!

Summer Holidays- Going to prison

As my previous summer holidays post explained I headed to Cornwall for my summer trip this year with my mum and dad. Ive decided to blog about my trip, but split them up into separate posts, because I know full well its going to be a long post otherwise!

We finally hit Cornwall on the Friday, which I was rather excited about! We couldn't pick our little house keys up until the late afternoon so we'd planned to see some sites first before heading to the site!

I didn't really know what there was to see and I wasn't too fused about what we saw! We headed for Bodmin Jail, which was such an interesting place to visit! The buildings were so nice to walk around and the history was so interesting (I'm secretly a MASSIVE geek).  We spent the whole morning wandering around, seeing all the cells and reading all the inmates stories.

One of the prison wings, which is no longer accessible, but still uniquely pretty
After this we headed for some more history and geek filled fun at Tintagel castle. The area was so so pretty! Although its not very friendly to get too if you're not very good with hills and steps!

It was hard to believe I was still in the UK. It was such a pretty place to visit and the views were amazing! I only wish I had a decent camera to take really good photos, instead I had to put up with my Iphone, seen as the pictures I took on there were far better than the ones I took on my actual digital camera!

But after we visited the castle we headed to the camp type thing we were staying on for the next three nights. Another hour and a half of driving.  We were staying in Perranporth, so we weren't far away from the beach. We spent the evening exploring Perranporth itself, which was such a lovely cute town. The fish and chips in Perranporth were amazing too, so that was a selling feature for me!

Summer Holidays- One night stop and Longleat

My whole summer holiday/roadtrip was 6 nights long and we did SO much, so I'll split it up over a few posts as not to overload with text!

This year my mum, dad and I(we're just a little three person family:-) headed to Cornwall for our summer holiday! We don't often go away as a family as me and my mum tend to travel abroad and my dad doesn't like the heat and stuff. But seen as I'm heading for University next year my mum thought it would be nice for us all to go away together! Id never been to Cornwall before but my mum and dad said I'd love it so I was defiantly up for going!

We left Blackpool on the Wednesday evening and stopped off in Tewkesbury at a Travelodge for the night to split up the driving, seen as I couldn't drive share with my mum because I've not passed my test yet; boo!
I love one night stays at travelodge's(well all hotels in general) and I don't know why, there's just something about settling into a hotel for a single night before moving on that I really enjoy! We'd booked the hotel literally three days before so I had to share my room with my parents and I had a bed no wider than myself so it wasn't the comfiest nights sleep I'd ever had, but still it was a nice break!

The next morning we set out for Longleat! We had another couple of hours driving until we reached it but it was defiantly worth the driving! It wasn't quite school summer holidays yet so it was rather quiet! The weather was amazing which made the whole day even better!

We spent the morning wandering around the grounds, looking at the animals and having Costa Coffee and cakes sat in a little garden with the most amazing views! We visited the house, which is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen!

Longleat house was so pretty

All the animals were cute and aw
We also got ridiculously lost in the maze!

Our Costa and cake views were AMAZING

After we'd explored all the grounds we headed for the safari! Which was brill! I defiantly recommend Longleat for a day out!
We then had another hour or so driving to our next hotel, ready to head into Cornwall the next morning. We stayed at another travelodge, only I got to spend the night in my own room, which was brilliant! I was so tired I spent most the evening in bed, after the nicest meal I've ever eaten at a service station from Little Chef!

But that was our first day and by this point I was SO excited to finally head to Cornwall!
