Weight Loss Wednesday

Now then. This post will have to be half apologies and half motivational.

I must first of all apologies for the missing post last week; I was ill YET AGAIN so both had no motivation to eat well and exercise or in all honesty write a blog post. It really took all the energy out of me. But not to worry the illness has gone and healthy living is back, woo!

I'm feeling extra motivated now as well, I used these last two weeks as a little break 1-because I was ill and 2-because I wasn't at college and had a lot of things going on. Now before you all think 'that's cheating' blar blar blar, I know it is but when I'm lacking as much motivation as I was after being ill, having a little rest to regain motivation is just what I need. I still did some exercise and ate some of the right things, but I let the carbs creep back into my diet. It's harder to eat properly and fit in exercise (I find anyway) when the weeks regular timetable is taken away; like in college half term. Not having a schedule for each day which I have to stick to just makes me think being lazy is okay...which it is for a little bit. The little break and step back from a schedule helps me to realise that I need the schedule and all that comes with it to help me feel better in myself. Motivation is therefore no problem when it comes to restarting the normal schedule.

So my advice to you all, feeling unmotivated? Take a little break, one day, two days, a week, two weeks, one meal, however long you feel is necessary to regain some motivation. You'll see just how much your body needs and wants to live healthier. Plus a little bit of what you fancy does you good! So if you fancy being lazy for a few days, go for it!

That's just a little tip from me to you all...It always works for me!
Hope this helped; let me know! Have a good week:-)

My week in pictures

Well this is another one of my started but never finished projects. I started off so well posting each week about what I'd been up to during the week through pictures. But I've not done this post in a long long time. So I'm going to re-start this back up, so then my blog isn't neglected quite as much! Plus I quite enjoyed the challenge of remembering to take pictures during the week, even of the most mundane of things.
(Most of the pictures I'll be posting I'll probably have posted on my Instagram as well, which is here; hannnx oooo shameless)

This week was half term so I spent a lot of time relaxing, at home and with friends.

The first picture is my dog dressed in a scarf, because I'm one of those people who finds things like that really funny...
Second is a picture of one of my favourite films which I finally purchased on DVD and then found time to watch... I really recommend 500 days of summer, even though its not everyone's cup of tea. But I like it, its a bit more of a realistic love story than all the other cliche movies.
Third is a picture from a night out on Friday. It was a fab fab fab night, although slightly too much was drank...but when you only go out around once a month, like me, I'm sure it can be excused, right?
The fourth picture is of a little note, which one of my closest and cutest friends attached to a little valentines present; Love hearts and a love hearts candle(which smells delicious!). The presents were just a bit of fun because neither of us had a valentine.  My friends are so cute.
And the final, very vain picture, was taken on the night of one of my friends dance show which all our little friendship group went to watch and support her in. The picture was originally to show the make up and outfit I was wearing, but didn't really show either very well; now its a multi-use picture I suppose.

Well, that was my week! Hope everyone had a good week, I'll probably move my week in pictures day back to a Sunday from next week. I didn't want to post this yesterday seen as I'd already blogged yesterday, look at me on a roll!

Current favorites

It's been a while since I've shared my favourite items with you all! This time I've got quite a few favourites, well the last few months I've had a bit of money saved to treat myself with more than I normally do, lucky me!

The Mortal Instruments, City of Bones DVD. During summer last year a close friend recommended reading The Mortal Instruments series, by Cassandra Clare(in fairness I'm still reading it...) which I absolutely fell IN LOVE with. They're absolutely amazing, so I recommended reading those! I was then told that they were making the first book of the series into a film, which was possibly the greatest thing I'd ever heard. The film is amazing, although its not a completely accurate translation of book to film it's still amazingly close! Since pre-ordering the film and it arriving I've probably watched it at least 3 times a week...obsessive I know but it's SO good.

The manual of mess and mistakes, Keri Smith. The 'mess' journal is part of the Wreck this Journal family. This was a gift for my 18th birthday. I've only recently started using it properly and I'm loving using it. In the same way as the wreck this journal it gives instructions on each page, but this one is aimed more at just making a mess and not worrying about the outcome. It's just really fun, especially after a crappy day!

Animal crossing for 3DS and 3DS. As childish as it sounds I've re-fallen in love with the Nintendo DS and Animal Crossing. Ever since the new animal crossing came out I've been dying to buy it, but of course life and its necessity for money got in the way, which meant I've had to wait. I also had to buy a whole new console as I had the Nintendo DSI which the game doesn't play on (Nice game plan Nintendo, really considerate), it was quite a bit of money I needed spair. But honestly the wait has been worth it. I've not put it down for the past month or so whenever I get the chance. Defiantly worth buying/playing, even if it did cost around £125 for the console and game!

Make-up and beauty wise I've been loving quite a few things recently.
No7, lash adapt mascara. This was given to me by my mum just after Christmas and I've fallen in love with it. It makes my eyelashes super long and volumised. Its wand is a perfect texture which means there's less clumps, which is always a winner.

Collection, Lasting perfection, ultimate wear concealer, in Medium number 3. I've never been much of a liquid make up wearer, but just recently I've began to look like the walking dead all the time as I'm always tired. So I thought hey why not try some concealer. This is the only one, in fairness I've given a full try, others I try for a day and decide I don't like them. But this one is pretty good, it was around £4.50 I think, which is pretty reasonable and I think it was a pretty good purchase really, its got a long lasting coverage and matches to skin colour quite well. So I'm quite happy with it, well I must be considering I've had it on everyday for nearly 2 weeks now(I don't normally stick to make-up that well.)

Ted baker body spray. This was part of a gift set which I received as a present for Christmas. It smells absolutely gorgeous. It's hard to describe but is really sophisticated and grown up...if that makes sense. It's nice for both during the day and for formal occasions. The only problem is now it's nearly empty and I can't find it any shops or even online :-(!
Well done for the slightly out of focus photo hannah...doing it so much justice
Benefit's world famous neutrals eye shadow palette. This was a bit of an impulse buy for me. When I was out shopping just after Christmas I came across the palette and loved the colours, I've always heard such good things about Benefit products but had never tried them. The palette was £23.50 and honestly it was a well spent £23.50 I think. All the colours are neutral(obviously...) but they're subtle enough to wear everyday and even to dress up for nights out. I've really fallen in love with one of the crease less cream shadows called R.S.V.P. It's so natural, stays in place all day and sits well with pretty much any outfit. I love it!

So that's my current favourites for you all! Hope you enjoyed reading. I love doing these types of posts!

Why the long pause?

Well as far as not neglecting my blog in 2014 goes I'm really not doing a good job. I just haven't had the time recently to sit and do a full post. But even last week was too crazy to sit and do my weight loss Wednesday post. In fairness though I didn't really do a very good job at staying healthy; life was a bit crazy, so it wouldn't have been very motivational for anyone.

BUT it's half term now (even though we're already half way through already) so I've got a little bit of time to just sit and write some posts. So that's what I'm going to do and then I'll probably scheduled them for the next few weeks; cheating I know, but I know that I'm not going to have much time to sit and blog for a few more weeks.

I have a few posts which I'm in the process of finishing so I'll post those in the upcoming future, but in all honesty I have (YET AGAIN) writers blog, and very few ideas for posts. So if anyone has any suggestions, tags or anything let me know! I'm pretty open minded!

So I hope everyone's okay and having a good February!

Weight Loss Wednesday

Welcome to another Wednesday!
(I know I've only posted these types of posts for a few weeks and nothing else, and for that I do apologise again. I shall sort that out this week!)

But this week I thought I'd share with you all my new breakfast routines!
To achieve my weight loss goals(side note I managed to loose half a pound again this week, wooo) I've been cutting down on carbs. Usually on a normal college day I'd eat about 4 pieces of bread, as toast for breakfast and a sandwich for dinner. Then I'd come home and make pasta or potatoes for tea, so a pretty carb heavy diet!
But for the past two weeks I've cut down on my carbs. Especially for breakfast, which has made me feel far less sluggish and much more energised. So instead of taking toast to college I've been making fruit smoothies and/or taking natural yoghurt and fruit and taking those instead!

My favourite smoothie which I've made so far is what we like to call 'pinacolada of health' in my house....no idea why. But basically it consists of tinned peaches, fresh pineapple, fresh orange juice and a few tea spoons of shredded coconut, all blended together in the nutri bullet.
Yes it's full of fruit sugars but it's far less carbs and far more energising than other breakfasts I've eaten!

So there you are, if you fancy a change try a smoothie of some sort! I'm loving them at the moment! I shall experiment with differnt fruits these next few weeks and report back!
I hope everyone had a good week and are achieving their goals! I know I am, and I'm feeling so much happier and healthier for it!
